Selfmanagement refers to the personal application of behavioural change mechanisms that yield a change in their behaviour. I intend to work on sleep deficiency disorder. This is because, every night when I head for my bed, I become sleepless; I tried hard to fall asleep but in vain. I, therefore, end watching movies, reading fiction books or anything that will distract my mind. I usually find sleep in the morning hours, which is quite disadvantageous as it impairs my daily production, especially the morning activities. I, therefore, intend to manage this insomnia to enable me to have better-sleeping patterns that are healthy. Since self-management is a continuous process, it will utilize various methods to achieve the required behaviour change. The first step is stating the behaviour I intend to change, which is sleeping patterns. Second, monitoring and collect data on my sleeping patterns, I intend to use sleep self-management apps on my mobile phone. The app will record what times I fall asleep, my sleeping positions and other sleep behaviour at night. According to Choi (2020), sleep management apps create awareness and facilitate healthy sleeping patterns. Third, adopting positive changes to deal with the causes of this behaviour. Exercising regularly and avoiding caffeine intakes are some of the activities. Forth, telling my initiative to the people I live with and staying committed to my strategies. Finally, is to reevaluate and redesign my strategies appropriately continually. I chose this behavior because it is critical to my health and job performance at my workplace. I have lived with this behaviour for so long, but it did not have a severe impact on my life. However, recently, I have received numerous complaints from my manager at work. She has been complaining of my low production over the day and the adverse effects the declined SELF-MANAGEMENT TARGET BEHAVIOR production is having on the company where we work. My mother has also been complaining of the rate at which my body is wasting and how unhealthy I am becoming. Initially, I had planned to quit the job, thinking that perhaps it would give me more time to observe a healthy lifestyle. However, before quitting, I reflected on my daily routines to detect the actual cause of low production and poor health. So, I discovered my unhealthy sleeping patterns.
